ZIGMAGORA is calling

Stage Your City has launched project website

After several months of development, the maybe most experimental project of the European Theatre Lab is now successfully on the home stretch: Stage Your City, a collaboration of Théatre de la Manufacture Nancy, Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Kote Marjanishvillie State Drama Theatre Tbilisi and the ETC, has launched the website www.zigmagora.eu. While still keeping the secret of the future super intelligence called Zigmagora, it invites you to have a first glimpse at the dystopian story in which you are asked to explore the city in an app-guided walk and make your very personal contribution to make this world a better place. And it is here, where you will be able to download the app ZIGMAGORA in a few days which enables you to be part of the shows in Nancy from 12 – 20 April.

In 2018, the idea of artificial intelligence ruling a city or even a whole nation is not totally utopian. The US magazine Politico recently published an article that considers the question whether a robot could be president: “Yes, it sounds nuts. But some techno-optimists really believe a computer could make better decisions for the country—without the drama and shortsightedness we accept from our human leaders.“
However, the future world that Stage Your City sees ahead of us is not only perfectly organised, peaceful, rational and reasonable but also cold and without any track of human emotion and passion. Would we actually want to live like that? And what would we do to prevent the extinction of everything that makes us human while the machines are slowly taking over?

Stage Your City will premiere on 12 April in Nancy, opening this year’s edition of the RING Festival. Find more information on www.zigmagora.eu.
